As previously mentioned, Team Fortress 2 has been getting small updates over the past few years, and it got a bigger Jungle Inferno update in 2017 that added a new official map, five community.

The Jungle Inferno Update is a major update for Team Fortress 2 released on October 20th 2017. The update introduced 6 new maps 1 valve made and 5 community created, 7 new taunts, 1 new taunt kill, over 40 new cosmetic items, 5 new weapons (4 for Pyro,1 for Heavy), many rebalances and a new campaign. The update introduced 6 new maps; 5 community and 1 Valve made one: Mercenary Park Mossrock.

Today the Pyro will get a chuffing jetpack in Team Fortress 2 as part of the 'Jungle Inferno' update. This is a big'un, bringing one new Valve-made map, five new community-made maps, and the long-promised Pyro class update. All flamethrowers are being improved and the Pyro is armed with four new weapons too, from a beefy single-shot.

Jungle Inferno didn't really improve performance (although, IIRC, it didn't make it any worse), but Valve's map (Mercenary Park) was pretty decently optimized so it never had strange performance issues where it shouldn't have had them. More importantly, the game was actually playable when the update dropped.

What I'm trying to say is that, however good this update was (and it was), it's forever tainted by its greater, inseperable context. iirc TF2 was getting ~30k active players before the update dropped, then jumped up to like 75k when it did. That was record-breaking, at least for that time frame.
